LI Qi
Born in 1990 in Beijing, China, LI Qi (pronounced as “Lychee”) is a PhD candidate in music composition and theory at Brandeis University. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She is the top award winner of the 2017 ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Awards. Her works have been performed by numerous professional ensembles including China Philharmonic Orchestra, China Film Symphony Orchestra, Aspen Contemporary Ensemble, Sound Icon, Loadbang, Ekmeles, Sarasa Ensemble, Von Quartet, Quartetto di Chitarre ÁPEIRON, Quatuor Arod, Lydian String Quartet among others. Her compositions have been performed in various significant venues and conferences including the National Centre for Performing Arts (“the Egg”) in Beijing, Aspen Music Festival and School, Philharmonie de Paris, China-ASEAN Music Festival, China Remixed Festival, HighSCORE Festival in Italy, Composers Conference at Wellesley College, and so on.
