LI Qi

Born in 1990 in Beijing, China, LI Qi (pronounced as “Lychee”) is a PhD candidate in music composition and theory at Brandeis University. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She is the top award winner of the 2017 ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Awards. Her works have been performed by numerous professional ensembles including China Philharmonic Orchestra, China Film Symphony Orchestra, Aspen Contemporary Ensemble, Sound Icon, Loadbang, Ekmeles, Sarasa Ensemble, Von Quartet, Quartetto di Chitarre ÁPEIRON, Quatuor Arod, Lydian String Quartet among others. Her compositions have been performed in various significant venues and conferences including the National Centre for Performing Arts (“the Egg”) in Beijing, Aspen Music Festival and School, Philharmonie de Paris, China-ASEAN Music Festival, China Remixed Festival, HighSCORE Festival in Italy, Composers Conference at Wellesley College, and so on. Having worked as a professional musician, a music-educator, and the Executive Director of a number of non-profit arts organizations, Beth has over 10 years of experience in catering to the unique needs of artists. Beth believes that the talent, education, and skill-sets of her clients have inherent worth. As a passionate artist advocate, she aims to help her artists improve the quality of their own lives by encouraging them to honor the value of their own work, and by creating materials which allow them to champion their art with confidence. Equally interested in building community, Beth aims to create a roster of artists who are excited to support and collaborate together.
